Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) recently hosted The Innovation Experience, a showcase of 16 exhibitions presented by students who collaborated with industry partners. The collaboration created opportunities for students to research, learn, and ultimately display their creativity and forward-thinking solutions to real-world scenarios. The industries ranged and included automotive, medical, and manufacturing that immersed students with practical knowledge.
A multi-functional partner of APSU for the past several years, Florim USA was pleased and excited to receive The Innovation Experience Business Collaborator Award. “We are thankful to the APSU. It’s so fascinating to see the enthusiasm, passion and thought students put into their projects!” states Antonio Albanese, Florim USA’s President. “It’s been an honor to partner and continually strengthen our partnership with Austin Peay. We believe that as industry leaders, we should support these initiatives, and give these talented students the opportunity to use their skills in the post University world.”
APSU President Mike Licari agrees and stated, “I am grateful for the support that Florim USA has provided to the university and am eager to move our partnership to the next level, including the development of internships and other ways of connecting Austin Peay students to great careers”.
Recently Albanese, Licari, and other Austin Peay leaders collaborated to discuss ways to continually strengthen the partnership moving forward. Florim USA has provided scholarship awards, internships, and work experience to more than 40 APSU students.
